Thousands of people visited CAM on its opening weekend
Thousands of people visited the exhibitions by Leonor Antunes, Fernando Lemos, and of the CAM Collection, and by Japanese artists Go Watanabe and Yasuhiro Morinaga, while discovering the new building designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Many groups took part in the activities, watched the performances, inhabited the new Garden and, among a truly diverse crowd, met, laughed and danced at Engawa.
From Jota Mombaça’s intimate performance and Wasted Rita’s temporary tattoos to Nala Sinephro and Éliane Radigue’s concerts, and the Engawa Season proposals, the turnout for the opening party transformed the new CAM into a living place where many emotions were shared.
At the new restaurant ‘A Mesa do CAM,’ chef André Magalhães’ delicacies were savoured around the large communal table designed for this space by Kengo Kuma.
CAM is now open to the community with a programme that reflects the plurality and diversity of contemporary artistic production.
Entry to the exhibitions is free until 7 October.
