Carlos Bunga’s Home project has moved into the Gulbenkian Garden

Carlos Bunga’s new project, displayed in a shipping container originally placed in Terreiro do Paço in Lisbon, can now be seen in the Gulbenkian Garden.

Initially displayed next to the Terreiro do Paço ferry terminal in Lisbon, between January and July 2022, the Home project by the artist Carlos Bunga has moved to the Gulbenkian Garden, where it can be seen from today.

As part of the CAM in Motion programme, the artist was invited to develop a site-specific project for a shipping container. The installation stems from the political but also rather poetic thought the artist has developed around the idea of the ‘house’. Bunga touches on issues such as memory, and the affinity and protection associated with our houses, and invites us to reflect on them.

This container joins the first CAM in Motion container, also installed in the Garden, in which screenings of videos from the CAM Collection have been held since 15 October 2021. Find out more about all the projects.
