Date

Location
Studio Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianInês Zenha talks to curators João Mourão and Luís Silva about the questions running through Murky Waters: the relationship between body, water and transformation, and the ways artistic practice can imagine spaces of resistance, vulnerability and care.
Starting from the paintings, sculptures and installations on display, the conversation turns to the research and production processes behind them, and to themes such as queer embodiment, the materiality of ceramics and painting, and the tensions between the sacred and the profane, purity and contamination.
More than a reading of the exhibition, this is a reflection on how art can create new images, narratives and experiences for thinking about the body and the structures that shape it.
This conversation will be conducted in Portuguese, with simultaneous interpretation into English. The session will also include interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language.
