Exhibition “Maria Lamas and her women” in Torres Novas
This exhibition, organised in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, follows the original Maria Lamas and her women exhibition, curated by Jorge Calado, held in 2024 in the atrium of the Art Library, which presented 67 original photographic prints by Maria Lamas (1893–1983), a writer, translator, publisher, and advocate for women’s rights.
In Torres Novas, a selection of the photographic prints from the Lisbon exhibition is on display, along with some personal belongings of Maria Lamas.
The exhibition is accompanied by a series of outreach activities, including guided tours, film screenings, and book presentations, with the programme running until 14 June.
