For three decades João Miguel dos Santos Simões produced documentation about tiles.

This documentation is organised by themes such as Lisbon’s iconography, altar fronts, armoured tiles, the Convento dos Cardais and records of saints; or by projects, such as the editions of the Corpus da Azulejaria Portuguesa, the tiles manual, and the tiles inventory file.
