Welcome to Zartsants!
Born out of the online experience of the “Zarmanazan” summer programme, “Zartsants” is an online platform where the language is lived naturally, based on innovative pedagogical and social principles.
Zartsants is open to all children (from 3 years old), teenagers, and adults who wish to have a space where they will have the opportunity to express themselves, exchange ideas, create, discover, read, draw, write, sing, and play in Western Armenian — thereby naturally developing their linguistic skills and usage.
Through participation in group workshops, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Western Armenian several times a week. There will be language workshops formed by peer-age groups, as well as various art and multi-disciplinary workshops formed by mixed-age groups. In the presence of experienced and specialised facilitators, opportunities will be created to use the language in daily life and to naturally enhance knowledge of Western Armenian.
Zartsants is organised by the ‘Mille et un mondes’ association in Lyon, France. The project is an initiative of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
