Sofia Miguens is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Porto, where she also leads the Mind, Language, and Action Research team. She holds both a BA and a PhD from the University of Porto and has held visiting positions at New York University, the Institut Jean Nicod, Paris, and the University of Sydney.  

She was also President of the Portuguese Philosophical Association.   Her research focuses mostly on the philosophy of mind, epistemology, and the philosophy of language. She has authored and edited several books, including Pre-Reflective Consciousness: Sartre and Contemporary Philosophy of Mind and The Logical Alien: Conant and His Critics.
