While there are many reasons to apply to the GIAS, we asked our Board members to share their thoughts on what makes the GIAS a special place. In the course of a recent meeting in Lisbon we recorded their varied, lively, and sometimes provocative reflections. They address a wide range of topics: the importance of collaborative research and conversation in the Humanities, the nature of an Institute for Advanced Study and, not least, what fellows can expect to find at the GIAS.
