Text

Cecília Costa’s interest in geometric forms comes mainly from her background in mathematics. The line is a fundamental motif in Costa’s compositions, through which she collapses different dimensional planes, in a limbo between drawing and sculpture. Darkest Light embodies this duality: by juxtaposing the drawing of a thin line, with the charcoal rubble on the floor, she creates a fragmented landscape; an organic entity spills out from the rationality of the line.
