Sounds of a Revolution: ‘Why are we together?’

On the 50th anniversary of 25 April, around 50 young people born long after 1974 are preparing a concert to tell us, through music and body percussion, about the revolutions they want for their lives.

In the participatory project ‘Sounds of a Revolution‘, directed by artist Mikhail Karikis, the students of Artallis Conservatory hold monthly musical exploration sessions around questions like ‘Why are we together?’.

In this short video, we see some of the moments of that preparation, accompanied by answers from some of the students. On the 50th anniversary of the celebration of democracy, we are together because ‘we need to keep on going together’.

CAM honours democracy with several initiatives that ask different generations to take part in the celebrations, such as creating new artistic projects, with personal points of view and opinions on what the Carnation Revolution was and is today.
