«Seeing the collection through the gaze of a person who sees things in it that nobody had imagined»
Participants in the project 'Exchanged gazes, (un)common places' reflect on the collective construction processes of an exhibition with works from the CAM Collection and on the transformative role of participatory projects for individuals, institutions and communities.
Entre olhares, Encontros (in)comuns [Exchanged gazes, (un)common places] is a participatory curatorship project launched by CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian for the Alcântara Library and 21 participants from the surrounding community, with nothing in common other than a taste for art and a desire to move out of the role of spectator to take the place of curator, which led to an exhibition with works from the CAM Collection.
