The Shape of Plain

The exhibition The Shape of Plain evokes the impact of art history on artistic and architectural practices based on the work of the American art historian George Kubler. Four installations (sequences of images in the form of lessons) are presented around the work of artists and historians Ad Reinhardt, George Kubler, Robert Smithson and Paulo Varela Gomes and João Vieira Caldas.
The booklet accompanying the exhibition includes texts by the curator Eliana Sousa Santos, an architect and researcher. The concept of art is introduced and texts are presented on each of the installations on show.
