For Project Space’s sixth instalment, artist Aimée Zito Lema (Amsterdam, 1982) projected a unique installation that was the result of a collaboration with Lisbon’s Theatre of the Oppressed Group. Under the title 13 Shots, this project stems from performative exercises on the concepts of individual and collective memory and on the intergenerational transmission of the memory of the Carnation Revolution.

Following an editorial line launched in 2017, the publication that accompanies this exhibition consists of a text written by curators Ana Cachola, Daniela Agostinho and Luísa Santos, in which they explore Aimée Zito Lema’s work and the notion of memory. The publication also includes the artist’s bio.

Profusely illustrated, the book comprises installation views as well as detailed images of some of the artist’s works, such as photographs, silkscreens and video-stills that illustrate the work process with the theatre group and her research on the Gulbenkian Archives.
