Imagination Laboratory 2022: Bodies, Desires and Ecologies

Gulbenkian Imagina

The ‘Imagination Laboratory’ is a platform for experimentation, developed by a group of young people and interdisciplinary artists, which aims to explore new forms of thinking and acting in relation to the challenges of the present, and to imagine other possible futures.

In the first iteration of the Imagination Laboratory, in 2022, with the theme Bodies, Desires and Ecologies, the CAM invited young people to take part in a collective of creators and thinkers, to explore as a group the relationships between body, desire and ecology. The project is led by Rita Natálio and Alina Ruiz Folini, two performing arts practitioners who have been working on themes of ecology and somatic and gender research, and includes a parallel programme open to the public.

This edition also benefits from the occasional participation of artists such as Odete, Kahumbi, Ves Liberta, Josefa Pereira and Alice dos Reis, opening up practices and approaches where choreography, science fiction and fashion converge.
