Launched on 15 October 2021, CAM in Motion is an outdoor programme which aims to take art beyond the walls of the Gulbenkian Foundation and into the entire metropolitan area of Lisbon. Being presented in phases, the programme involves site-specific projects by guest artists alongside exhibitions with works from the Collection.

One of the projects in this programme involves the installation of shipping containers in public places in the city. The first such container, located in the Gulbenkian Garden, now presents the second cycle featuring a video each month from the CAM Collection, including works by Vasco Araújo, Ana Vidigal, Maria Lusitano and Gabriel Abrantes.

The inauguration of two more containers is scheduled for 3 February, with site-specific projects by Carlos Bunga and Rui Toscano. Located next to the Terreiro do Paço river station and in the square of the Fonte Nova Shopping Centre, respectively, these containers host interventions specifically designed for these spaces.

Preparations for the inauguration are currently underway: Carlos Bunga will present the project Home, which revolves around the house and the nomadism involved in the artist’s work, while Rui Toscano is preparing Music is the Healing Force of the Universe #4, an original sculpture centred on the image of a painting of a ceramic piece from Ancient Greece.
