CAM lends works by Mily Possoz to the Museu Nacional Arte Contemporânea at Chiado
Mily Possoz. A Poetics of Space showcases one of the most remarkable figures of Portuguese modernism, tracing the artist’s journey from her studies at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris to the major commission she received in 1940 for the Portuguese World Exhibition.
Opened at the beginning of last month and curated by Emília Ferreira, this exhibition is the most extensive ever dedicated to the artist. It is divided across three venues: Millennium BCP Gallery, at MNAC, MU.SA – Museu das Artes de Sintra, and NOVA Medical School – Advanced Health Education | Health Campus, in Cascais.
On display are works from the MNAC, Millennium BCP, GALP Foundation, and Vista Alegre collections. The exhibition also includes previously unseen works belonging to the artist’s family and to various private collections, notably those of the Tivoli Hotel and the Hotel de Seteais. There are also 26 works on loan from the CAM Collection, including prints, drawings and paintings.
The exhibition runs until 1 February 2026 and is a project that CAM is proud to support, offering the public a unique opportunity to rediscover the sensitivity and modernity of Mily Possoz’s work.
