Rosa Barba
Frame Time Open
Artist Rosa Barba, who will have an exhibition at CAM’s Nave and Mezzanine in 2026, is currently presenting her work at the Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo in Rome.
Launched on November 26, Rosa Barba‘s ‘Frame Time Open’ exhibition at the Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo – MAXXI in Rome questions the conceptual terms of cinematic space. Following her major exhibition at MoMA in New York earlier this year, Rosa Barba now occupies Gallery 2 at MAXXI, curated by Francesco Stocchi.
In perfect dialogue with the museum’s architectural space, designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid and spanning two decades of work, this exhibition brings together a selection of some of Barba’s most significant sculptural works and films – including a new 35 mm film and a new sculpture.
The artist has devoted recent years to a cinematic practice that explores light, transparency and reflection, activated by a site-specific installation that functions simultaneously as a drawing in space and as a supporting structure.
‘Frame Time Open can’ be visited until 8 March 2026, ahead of the exhibition that CAM, in partnership with MAXXI, will dedicate to her in May of the same year.
