Location
Engawa Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianCombining dance and the visual arts, ‘Caravanserá’ adopts the format of an open residency, with the artist present in the space to share the creative process with the public. The project will culminate in an urban and intergenerational carnival parade that celebrates coming together and sharing, inspired by the work of the artist and poet Maria José de Figueiredo Ciríaco.
‘Epiphanies’ aims to create a space for learning and the exchange of knowledge, in a practical and collaborative event where participants will learn the basics of sewing.
Over three sessions, they will work on costumes and accessories that will contribute to the overall look of the ‘Caravanserá’ block, facilitating the collective construction of this sensory and choreographed carnival.
