Location
Engawa Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianCombining dance and the visual arts, ‘Caravanserá’ adopts the format of an open residency, with the artist present in the space to share the creative process with the public. The project will culminate in an urban and intergenerational carnival parade that celebrates coming together and sharing, inspired by the work of the artist and poet Maria José de Figueiredo Ciríaco.
Drawing inspiration from the outlook of Maria José, who saw poetry and life in everyday urban life and the surrounding nature, the children will experiment with shape, colour and gesture, working as a group to create objects blending art, games and imagination, celebrating the discovery and pleasure of invention.
