Art library Av. de Berna, 45A, Lisbon Biblioteca de ArteExploring the radical potential of poetry, this session invites three poets – CAConrad, Ellen Lima e Rita Natálio – to share their recent work while exploring shared interests, frictions and desires.
BIOGRAPHIES
CAConrad is known for their development of (Soma)tics, a poetics, as they describe, “which investigates that seemingly infinite space between body and spirit by using nearly any possible THING around or of the body to channel the body out and/or in toward spirit with deliberate and sustained concentration.”
Ellen Lima is a poet, researcher, writer and PhD candidate in Comparative Modernities: Literatures, Arts and Cultures at the University of Minho in Portugal. She is indigenous of Wassu Cocal (AL) origin and published her first book of poetry Ixé ygara voltando pra 'y'kûá in 2021 in Portuguese and Old Tupi with the publisher Urutau. Among other collections, her work appears in Volta pra tua terra, an anthology of anti-fascist and anti-racist poets in Portugal (Urutau, 2021).
Rita Natálio has been working with writing, dramaturgy and performance, combining the creation of texts and shows with academic studies in anthropology and arts. Her poetry book Artesanato has been nominated for the prize “Prémios Novos 2016” and she published Human plants in 2017, together with (não)edições.
