Praça do Centro Comercial Fonte Nova LisbonAt the invitation of the Gulbenkian Foundation’s CAM, the artist Rui Toscano devised an original sculpture for this shipping container, initiating a new narrative context in his work and focusing on the image of a painting of a ceramic piece from Ancient Greece, showing the god Dionysus playing a lyre flanked by two satyrs dancing with castanets in their hands.

BIOGRAPHY
Rui Toscano has exhibited in institutions and galleries such as the José de Guimarães International Arts Centre (Guimarães), the National Museum of Contemporary Art – Museu do Chiado (Lisbon), the Museu de Serralves (Porto), Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art (Lisbon), Culturgest (Lisbon); MEIAC (Badajoz), among others. In 2009, he designed the exhibition The Great Curve for the Chiado 8 space
His works are represented in the collections of the Modern Art Centre of the Gulbenkian Foundation, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the Luso-American Development Foundation and PLMJ, among others.

CAM in Motion is an ‘outdoor’ programme that brings together a series of site-specific interventions by artists and exhibitions with works from the Collection in different spaces in the city of Lisbon and its surroundings.
