‘Saturday Nights at CAM’ invites DJ Marfox to transform the CAM Studio into a ‘boiler room’, a space for dance, intimacy and communion.

Marfox is a pioneer of Batida or Batucada, said to be the ‘sound of the Lisbon ghetto’, combining dance music of African origin, such as kuduro, kizomba, funaná and tarraxinha, with house and techno.

In a club atmosphere, this is a moment of encounter, a chance to share and dance to the beat of a pioneering producer of Afro-Portuguese music and one of its most respected ambassadors. Thanks to his personalised productions of Kuduro and Tarraxinha, Marfox is a dynamic beacon in the suburban neighbourhoods of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, where he grew up.

Before his DJ set, Marfox joins Cláudia Semedo and Mikas for a conversation organised by the curatorial team of the programme associated with the Julianknxx exhibition.
