Dance Workshop. Complicity Among Strangers

Event Slider

In preparation for the  ‘Caravanserá’ project, by Gustavo Ciríaco, this dance workshop proposes a sensory exploration of both body and space.

Combining dance and the visual arts, ‘Caravanserá’ adopts the format of an open residency, with the artist present in the space to share the creative process with the public. The project will culminate in an urban and intergenerational carnival parade that celebrates coming together and sharing, inspired by the work of the artist and poet Maria José de Figueiredo Ciríaco.

Guided by Gustavo Ciríaco, ‘Complicity Among Strangers’ invites participants to experiment with the gestures and rhythms of carnival, in movements and interactions that transform into the collective composition for the ‘Caravanserá’ block.

Inspired by the spirit of festive pilgrimage and community that permeates the project, the practice allows each body to be simultaneously instrument and participant at the party, connecting presence, movement and improvisation.

Duration: 120 min.
