CAM in Motion: Launch of the book 'Locus of Flight'

Event Slider

The illustrations created by António Jorge Gonçalves for the hoardings surrounding the renovation works on the CAM building gave rise to the book ‘Locus of Flight’, now presented by the artist and the curator, along with a new phase of the project.

On 7 February, at the Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles Interpretive Centre, we present the book Locus of Flight, by António Jorge Gonçalves. Based on the project developed by the illustrator for the hoardings surrounding the works on the CAM building on rua Dr. Nicolau Bettencourt, the book tells the story of the place where the Gulbenkian Foundation is located today through the eyes of a mallard duck, a common species in the garden.

At the same time, we mark the second phase of this project, with the title Yesterday I saw the future. This new work presents 48 drawings that reflect on the uncertainty of the future, and accompanies the hoardings placed on Rua Sá da Bandeira (at the intersection with Av. Duque de Ávila).

This event will be attended by the artist António Jorge Gonçalves, Raquel Alcobia, student and activist of the Greve Climática Estudantil movement, investigator Isabel Gordo (IGC) and will be presented by Ana Vasconcelos (CAM).
