CAM in Motion: Histories of a Collection Cycle

In a shipping container located in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Garden, a film cycle from the CAM Collection is presented, accompanying the exhibition Histories of a Collection.

This cycle of films and videos is part of the Histories of a Collection. Modern and Contemporary Art from CAM exhibition, on display in the Main Gallery of the Main Building, in the Museum and Garden, and marks out four different phases of acquisitions of works on film and video for the CAM Collection, between 2001 and 2022. The cycle proposes six works by Ana Hatherly, Rui Calçada Bastos, António Olaio, Ana Léon, Irineu Destourelles and Mónica de Miranda, in dialogue with the last two sections of the exhibition – ‘Beyond the Fine Arts 1990-2005’ and ‘Permanent and Temporaries 2006-2020’ –, also opening up to a new cycle of acquisitions that started in 2021.

CAM in Motion is an ‘outdoor’ programme that brings together a series of site-specific interventions by artists and exhibitions with works from the Collection in different spaces in the city of Lisbon and its surroundings. More info
