Engawa Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianBecoming Fungal invites us to look at nature, particularly at the mycelial structure of fungi, in order to discover new systems, ways of thinking, and behaviours that can be explored within the context of artistic institutions.
‘Let’s Become Fungal!’ is more than a book. It’s a methodology and a way of thinking that can be activated in communities, networks, and organizations.
From microbial encounters to speculative mind maps, from cyclical calendars to symbiotic systems, this workshop draws on mycology to uncover tools that can contribute to develop richer, fairer, and more expansive institutional and artistic ecosystems.
During the session, the ‘Let’s Become Fungal!’ Oracle Cards will be used to explore ways of implementing the teachings of the fungal world in our lives.
The event is part of the programme of the ‘Institution(ing)s’ project, a consortium of European arts organisations that seeks to create a framework for instituting an emerging social vision, as well as to test and share innovative methodologies applied to art institutions.
‘Institution(ing)s’ is funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or Creative Europe. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.
