Approximate duration: 60 min.

Whilst on tour with Israel Galván, watching the flamenco dancer every night in a position that reminded her of the historical Nijinsky and the revolutionary ballet “The Rite of Spring”, Sylvie Courvoisier began to insert quotes from Stravinsky’s music into the show. It was the starting point for a deeper understanding of her relationship with the Russian composer’s masterpiece. In this concert, as in the album “The Rite of Spring – Spectre d’un songe”, Courvoisier performs with Cory Smythe an arrangement of the work for two pianos, after which the two pianists, who have a natural penchant for improvisation, focus on a composition by the Swiss pianist inspired by Stravinsky’s creation. Gone is the scandal with which the original work was received in 1913, but the astonishment it continues to arouse remains.
