Born from the mind of one of today’s most inventive, original and challenging musicians, American trumpeter Peter Evans, the band Being & Becoming takes its name from the writings of Sufi author and musician Inayat Khan. In Evans’ definition, and using various sources (traditional and experimental), connected to improvisation but also to written music, this is a formation “committed to the challenge of creative spontaneity.” After a first life of enormous impact, the quartet returns renewed, while retaining its original characteristics and the frenzy of ideas from the first moment. A huge concentration of talent and intrepidity, captained by Evans and vibraphonist Joel Ross, whom the New York Times calls “musicians of hair-raising dexterity”.
