  • Fred Moten Texts, Voice
  • Brandon Lopez Double bass
Total approximate duration: 60 min

In its selection of the ten best jazz albums of 2022, The New York Times wrote about the remarkable record by bassist Brandon López, drummer Gerald Cleaver and poet Fred Moten, noting how Moten “pursues a complete questioning of the ways in which Black knowledge systems have been exploited and discarded, yet still reborn”.

In Revision (2025), Moten once again collaborates with López, deepening the relationship between untamed word and fervent, highly visual music. Revision is music of today, conscious in its response to current political insanity and the enduring place of resistance within the African American population.

As The Quietus writes, “this is not exactly a call to arms, but rather an urgent invitation to rethink our world”.
