The world is not going through an easy moment. Wars, natural disasters, political extremism, totalitarian threats, volatile economies, stark inequalities, climate anxieties, hate speech and intolerance, uncertain tomorrows.
The presentation text for Wrecks, a meeting between the tenor saxophone of Rodrigo Amado and the electric organ of David Maranha, refers to this contemporary storm as the backdrop for this unsettling music woven by the two.
This context did not escape the attention of Free Jazz Blog, which accompanied a top-rated review with a description of the “industrial, violent, melody- and harmony-free” sound created by Maranha as a foundation; above it, Amado “soothes, sings, laments, howls, screams”, creating an intense soundtrack for a world in flames.
