My own idea, the idea that drove me into this project was that of taking evidence, using molded paper of a pre-historical engraving made by a pioneer colleague, back in the time when paper was yet to be discovered. It was the end of a cycle.
The word Neolithic is not used here in its historical sense – an era prior to any incision making – but to indicate a new way of stone engraving, of a new print spawned from a lithic source.
For all different reasons, this series remained unpublished. Each multiple has only one or two proofs.
A work from this series was awarded with the Grande Prémio de Gravura da Bienal de Vila Nova de Cerveira in 1982.
