Between September 2022 and February 2023, Serralves will present the exhibition 50 Anos Depois (50 Years Later), honouring the life of Maria Antónia Marinho Leite Siza Vieira (1940-1973). Developed following a donation by the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, the artist’s husband, the exhibition features a set of paintings, prints, drawings, letters and embroidery.

Holding a set of over 100 works by Maria Antónia Siza in its collection, the CAM joins this initiative by lending the painting Modelo, created by the artist in 1960 at around the age of 20, and donated to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation by Álvaro Siza in 2018.

Curated by architect António Choupina, the exhibition brings together more than a hundred works by an artist who, despite her premature death at the age of 32, left an important legacy that today forms part of some of the most important collections in Portugal.
