The Age of No Retirement is a movement for social change – towards the creation of a society where every citizen has the skills, support and opportunities necessary to live a full, productive and fulfilling live.

In October, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s UK branch was proud to have participated in the inaugural event ‘The Age of No Retirement?’ at Oxo Bargehouse in which 134 debaters, 214 organisations and 380 audience participants became the first champions of the movement.

The event, hosted by Trading Times and Commonland, involved participants identifying six campaigns to help foster age equality:

  1. Rethinking the generational divide
  2. Rethinking design for positive change
  3. Rethinking language
  4. Rethinking creating and sharing new stories
  5. Rethinking focusing on ‘one life’
  6. Rethinking work and employability

Last night, The Age of No Retirement launched its Rethink, Rework and Act newspaper outlining the six campaigns and twenty seven project proposals for the movement. These actions represent positive social change towards a society without age boundaries.
