‘From Participation to Co-creation’ event

Join us for a day of debate, workshops and practice-sharing in Glasgow
21 jan 2020

On Thursday 27 February 2020, Creative Scotland and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch), with With One Voice, will host a day of debate, workshops and practice-sharing to create fertile ground for change through the arts.

The morning session will be led by With One Voice, the international arts and homelessness movement. This session will provide skills building workshops in fundraising and evaluation. This follows With One Voice’s Review of Arts and Homelessness in Scotland. This new research includes recommendations to support those working in this area to gather evidence to improve the delivery of the work and help organisations explore funding opportunities.

In the afternoon, keynote speaker Nina Simon (Of/By/For All) will explore how arts organisations can play a civic role. Nina is the best-selling author of The Participatory Museum (2010), The Art of Relevance (2016) and the popular Museum 2.0 blog. Attendees will also hear from a range of inspiring arts organisations who are acting as platforms for unheard voices and supporting change in local communities.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch)’s Civic Role of Arts Organisations programme aims to connect all those who believe the arts are central to society and want their arts organisation to play a ‘civic role’. The ambition is to build a movement of change-makers, with impact in their local communities, across the UK and internationally.
