The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch), together with King’s College London, is pleased to invite you to the celebration of the Award for Civic Arts Organisations 2022. The event will highlight the innovative civic work from arts organisations in the UK, showcasing inspiring stories from the shortlisted organisations researched by postgraduate students at King’s College London, and announce the recipients of the Award, who will receive a total of £150,000. 

Join us to celebrate the exemplary civic work pioneered by arts organisations in the UK despite and in direct response to the last two years of disruption. We will highlight the inspiring stories of the 10 shortlisted organisations and announce the Award recipients.

Speakers will include:

  1. Kully Thiarai, Creative Director/CEO of Leeds 2023
  2. Baroness Deborah Bull, Vice President (Communities & National Engagement) and Senior Advisory Fellow for Culture, King’s College London
  3. Martin Essayan, Trustee, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation
  4. Louisa Hooper, Interim Director of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, UK Branch
  5. Postgraduate students at King’s College London, who will present research case studies on the shortlisted organisations
