An Odissey in HD

The orchestral suite The Planets arose out of the friendship between the English composer Gustav Holst and the writer Clifford Bax, who aroused his interest in astrology. The composition of the work was also partly inspired by the writings of the astrologer and theosophist Alan Leo. In 2016, the conductor Robert Ziegler directed the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on a very private tour, during which The Planets was performed simultaneously with the projection of thrilling images provided by NASA. The same will happen in this concert in which, in the first part, the works of R. Strauss and J. Adams will also be illustrated by screened images, in this case related to the planet Earth in particular.
