The Portuguese Stradivarius

Pavel Gomziakov
16 may 2017

After recording two Haydn’s Cello Concertos  with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in 2015, Pavel Gomziakov was a soloist in a fundraising concert that the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation promoted in October of that same year for the Refugee Support Platform. The repertoire was interpreted in a rare Stradivarius cello, one of the crown jewels from the collection of Museu Nacional da Música. On the 2th june, the russian cellist will perform again in the Grand Auditorium with pianist Andrey Korobeinikov, in a recital interely dedicated to russian composers. The programme will be once more interpreted on the rare instrument, built in 1725 by Antonio Stradivari, which belonged to king D. Luís I and was classified as National Treasure in 2006.
