Darcy Edmundson-Andrade

French Horn

Darcy Edmundson-Andrade was born in the United States of America, where she began her formal studies as a euphonium player. She attended the Interlochen Academy of Arts, the Eastman School of Music and the University of Michigan. In 1985, as a student at the University of Michigan, she began to play French horn, aiming at pursuing an orchestral career. She was a student of Dale Clevenger, Principal Horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and also worked with Phil Meyers, Principal Horn of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, she has studied and worked in Chicago, where she played with the Chicago Symphony Apprentice Orchestra and several other small professional orchestras. She is a founding member of the Chicago Trio chamber ensemble, and has been a member of the Gulbenkian Orchestra since 1993.
