Dietrich Paredes, a disciple of conductor José António Abreu, founder of “El Sistema”, took over the helm of the Caracas Symphony Youth Orchestra. The orchestra’s first Chief Conductor was the famous conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who has nothing but praise for the work of Paredes, one of the youngest conductors to emerge on to the international scene in recent years. A rare occasion was the performance of this orchestra at the emblematic Zurich Tonhalle in late 2014, which resulted in a standing ovation that lasted more than ten minutes.
