Bohuslav Martinů, an important name in Modernism, composed his Oboe Concerto in 1955. Strongly influenced by the musical universe of that period, this piece was interpreted by the Gulbenkian Orchestra and its Principal Oboist Pedro Ribeiro, under the direction of Mihhail Gerts.
