French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet enjoys an enviable reputation as a versatile and elegant performer. His career spans solo recitals, orchestra concerts, recordings of the classic jazz repertoire and music for film (he performed the score for Atonement and for Pride and Prejudice, the latter nominated for the Oscar for Best Soundtrack). He developed from early on a connection with Maurice Ravel and at only 9, he performed the demanding G Major Piano Concerto, the piece for which he is most known.
