Tamás Kazás. Joy of Surviving

The project Alegria e Sobrevivência (Joy of Surviving) by Tamás Kaszás (1976, Dunaújváros, Hungary) is the first individual exhibition of the artist in Portugal. It also marks the opening of the Project Space. It brings together a group of works that, departing from an imminent scenario of ecological and economic collapse, gives rise to the creation of a fiction of an alternative future, built on the values of imagination, collaboration, self-sufficiency, and the recovery and reinterpretation of an ancestral folk science.

The bilingual publication produced as part of Tamás Kaszás’ project, with a text by curator Rita Fabiana and a short biography of the artist, is the first edition of a series that will accompany the exhibitions presented at the Project Space. The texts are accompanied by a selection of images of works by the artist and photographs of the exhibition space. In this way, the publication is intended as a testimony of Tamás Kaszás’ intervention at the Project Space, and as a memory of the exhibition, extending the experience of the visit.
