René Lalique and the Age of Glass. Art and Industry

Bringing together around 100 works made by master glassmaker René Lalique, belonging to the Founder’s Collection and the Musée Lalique, as well as to private collectors, the exhibition René Lalique and the Age of Glass. Art and Industry focuses on the artist’s relationship with glass as a material of creation.

The publication accompanying this exhibition includes an essay by the curator of the project, Luísa Sampaio, who explores René Lalique’s career, from his first experiments with the material to the opening of his factories for the mass production of glass pieces, not forgetting his creations for the perfume industry.

In addition to high-quality images of a selection of the artist’s works, the essay also includes comparative images from the period. Rounding off the publication is a complete list of the 96 glass pieces made by Lalique, accompanied by individual photographs of each work.
