The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum announces the new visiting scholars programme that promotes the study of a subject and/or one or more objects in the Founder’s Collection or in the Modern Collection.
Applicants should have a background and profile compatible with their submission and should complete their research during the 2018-2019 academic year.
The selected researchers will be invited to collaborate with curators from the Museum for 2-4 weeks, and should present a report – and ideally a brief presentation – on the subject of their work.
The programme covers travel and accommodation expenses, when applicable, and a per diem of 75€.
Applications should be sent until 15 June 2018 by email or letter to the addresses below. Applicants should state which collection – Founder’s Collection, Modern Collection or both– and what subject and/or artworks they are interested in studying. They should also include their personal data along with a CV, the indication of the research programme, their aims (academic, publication or other), the estimated time for completing the research (between the proposed 2 and 4 weeks) and their travel and lodging needs.
Applications will be evaluated by the end of July 2018 by the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and the results will be communicated to the candidates.
