From Ancient Egypt to contemporary art

The Museum is made up of two distinct collections: a collection of international art brought together by Calouste Gulbenkian himself and the most complete collection of Portuguese modern art. Discover the man and the stories behind the collection, travel through a wide range of cultures – from Ancient Egypt to Persia and Japan – and discover artists like Rembrandt, Turner and Lalique.

The journey continues through the impressive Gulbenkian Park to the Modern Collection, where you will find works by the best known Portuguese artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, such as Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, José de Almada Negreiros, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Paula Rego, Helena Almeida and Pedro Cabrita Reis.
