Compass – Manual for human rights education with young people

Actions for the mainstreaming of Education for Human Rights at national level
28 jan 2016

The project We Stand for Human Rights!, promoted by Dinamo – Socio-Cultural Promotion Association and funded through the EEA Grants by Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein within the scope of the Cidadania Ativa Programme, managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, promoted a significant range of actions for the mainstreaming of Education for Human Rights at national level, significantly widening the range of social actors involved and promoting better cooperation between the higher education system and civil society.

The project, implemented between 2014 and 2016, was officially recommended by the Council of Europe, and counted with the partnership of the Higher School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, the Norwegian Human Rights Academy and the international network DARE Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe.

In addition to its various training and awareness activities, the project carried out the translation to the Portuguese language of the Council of Europe’s “Compass – Manual for Human Rights education with young people”, a fundamental tool for people working in Education for Human Rights all over Europe. Its official presentation took place on the January 26th, during the closing conference for the We Stand project for Human Rights! project, which took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The Portuguese edition of Compass is now available here.
