Francisco Ferreira is a Professor with the Department of Sciences and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon, Portugal, and a member of CENSE – Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research. His main research interests are within the areas of air quality and climate change.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals and coordinated several national and international research projects. He was President of Quercus, an environmental non-governmental organization from 1996 to 2001 and a member of its national board until 2011. He was a member of the National Council on Environment and Sustainable Development and of the National Water Council. Until the end of 2015, and for almost ten years, he was the author and presenter of a daily show on national public TV entitled “The Green Minute”. He is currently the President of ZERO – Association for the Sustainability of the Earth System.
