Singing in Exile

Event Slider

By Salvatore Finocchiaro and Nathalie Rossetti

The Armenian Diaspora couple Aram and Virginia Kerovpyan set as their objective the handing on of the modal liturgical song tradition, heritage that stretches back to the 5th century and at risk of disappearance. They take young European actors and the director Jaroslaw Fret, from the Grotowski de Wroclaw Institute (Bratislava), on a voyage that immerses them into places such as Turkey, where this art still exists. Song thus gets rendered as the language of creation and sharing, the breath of life.
