Appointed principal invited maestro at Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in 2022 at the age of 21, Tarmo Peltokoski is a serious talent with an undoubted right to a place on the international circuit. Last season, the young Finnish conductor performed at many of Europe’s most renowned venues, confirming that his rise with Hannu Lintu and Jukka-Pekka Saraste would rapidly bear fruit. At Gulbenkian Música, Peltokoski will direct a programme dedicated to the French composer Ravel, including his famous Piano Concerto, inspired by the vitality of Mozart and Saint-Saëns’s concertos, but also hinting at the influence of jazz.
