Son of Ernst Ottensamer, principal clarinettist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Andreas Ottensamer has performed the same duties as his father with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 2011. Having played in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, he has long established himself as a virtuoso clarinettist, which has led him to musical partnerships with Murray Perahia, Leif Ove Andsnes and Yo-Yo Ma.
